3/24

I'd just like to say that I hope for a quick end to this war. I wish this war never began. I think we are fighting this war because after 9-11 we have become so afraid of future terror attacks that we are willing to support anything that might make us feel safer. I have hope for the future, and I won't live my life in fear, even though I live in New York City, America's number one terror target. I believe American and Iraqi people are dying for a war that could have been avoided and I hope for a peaceful future and a world where we no longer solve our disputes with violence.

It's natural to be afraid after 9-11, but you can't let terrorists dictate your life. You can't let terrorists turn a country that was founded on the prciniples of peace into a country that wages war when diplomacy is still an option. And to those of you out there who continue to angrily bombard me and other people who disagree with this war with vague slogans about supposed "freedom," daring to question our loyalty to America, I have a message for you:

I will not be silenced by vague notions of supposed patriotism spouted out to cover up a mentality of fear.

I love my country and I respect human life across the world. If it was up to me, not a single American soldier would have died in Iraq these last few days, and that's a lot more than I can say for George W. Bush.

Peace
